2016年9月14日，PEED课题组2016级博士和硕士研究生新生见面欢迎会在电机楼30040举行，课题组负责人徐殿国教授、电力电子与电力传动研究所所有老师参与了这次见面，此外，徐殿国教授还邀请了IEEE TIE 主编Prof. Leopoldo G. Franquelo参与了这次见面会。

    会议首先请各位新生分别用中英文做个简单的自我介绍，包括本科毕业学校、家乡、指导老师、所做课题方向、爱好等。徐殿国教授向2016级所有研究生介绍了PEED课题组各位老师的研究方向并对新生们寄语。与会的各位老师也分别对自己实验室研究现状及发展方向做了简单介绍。最后，Prof. Leopoldo G. Franquelo对自己所任教的University of Sevilla和自己所做的一些相关项目和课题做了简要介绍，最后会议在大家的掌声中圆满结束。

Biography of Prof. Leopoldo G. Franquelo:
Leopoldo G. Franquelo (IEEE M'84–SM'96–F'05), received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Seville (US), Seville, Spain, in 1977 and 1980, respectively.
He is with the Department of Electronics Engineering, University of Sevilla and with the Research Institute of Intelligent Control and Systems, Harbin Institute of Technology.
His current research interests include modulation techniques for multilevel inverters and applications to power electronic systems for renewable energy systems.
Dr. Franquelo has been an IEEE-IES Distinguished Lecturer since 2006, an Associate Editor for the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS since 2007, Co-Editor-in-Chief 2014-15 and Editor in Chief since 2016. He was a Member-at-Large of the IES AdCom (2002–03), the Vice President for Conferences (2004–07), and the President Elect of the IES (2008–09). He was the President of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (2010–11) currently is IES Life AdCom Member. He was the recipient of the 2008 and 2015 Best Paper Awards of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine and the 2012 Best Paper Award of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS. He was the recipient of the 2012 IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Eugene Mittelmann Achievement Award and the 2015 IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Anthony J. Hornfeck Service Award.
